Medical Glue

The name of the glue is Sapheon (CyanoAcrylate). It is basically a "super-glue" that is put inside the vein to close the diseased vein.

A long thin tube is positioned under ultrasound guidance to make sure that it is in the correct site inside the vein, and then the glue is injected into the lumen of the vein to be treated.

The procedure is done under very small amount of local anaesthesia through a pin-hole wound only.

This is a relatively new method with satisfactory early result. Long term result is under studies.
